I decide to join this group in hopes of getting and sharing insights on the issue of childhood obesity and controlling my own weight concerns. I am not familiar with this sort of site so please bare with me as I familiarize myself with how it operates.

I am a busy mom of three girls, ages 20, 7 and 5. I own my own cleaning business. I find it tough to juggle all of my responsibilities and remain sane at the end of any given day. I try to keep it all balanced but never quite feel that I am hitting the goal.

A little family history....my 20 year old is actually my stepdaughter but I have been with her dad since she was just 2 so I consider her one of my own. She is a great kid but is very unmotivated which drives us crazy. She was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 7. We have struggled with the diabetes rollercoaster for a long time. She still does not understand that she should control the diabetes instead of letting it control her. My seven year old is a great girl and is very gifted academically. We have struggled with her weight since age 2 though. She is considered obese and we have been working with a pediatric endocronologist and a dietician for a few years without a huge amount of progress. My five year old has no major issues with her health or weight, thank goodness. We only struggle with her shyness and whining at this point.

I look forward to exploring the ideas on the site and getting to know some of you.
