Jeannie does it again! I think facing a bit of competition has put her gears into motion! Once Jeannie committed to her weight loss goal, she exceeded it! We often exceed our own expectations, when we do something as simple as believing in ourselves!
Great Job Jeannie!

Kuddo Awards - The Power HouseMay 2008 Kuddo Awards go to ... Nikki! Kuddo Awards - The Power House Weight Loss Support
Roll Call: 4 points Weight Loss: 12 points Assignments: 80 points Site Contribuitions: 2 points Menu with Calorie Counts: 20 points Daily Seven Calendar: 10 points Total Points: 128 points!

Regardless of points earned and Kuddo awards, Nikki will always be a winner in my book. Honestly when we first met, we tripped over each other's feet,a bit of mis-communication happening. Which I still to this day am not sure how that happened because Nikki is refreshingly honest and open about herself, her struggles and her own weaknesses. Therefore I must conclude, it was me doing the tripping and stumbling of communication. Nikki brings so much to this group, because she brings her wonderful heart and spirit.
Great Job Nikki!

Jo95682 Joie's Daily Reason To Shout Out Praises! 2 Jul 4 2008, 9:17 AM EDT by Jo95682

Lately it seems as if Valerie is growing a bit distant from me and the rest of the family, such as Dad and Grandma. She almost has a bit of snobby air in her attitude towards me specifically. I do understand that it is a part of life, she is growing up and at the age of 14, this is part of the process. Pulling away, separating herself from silly parents, etc. I did the same thing myself and it is expected to happen. However, as much as I know this is part of the growing process, it is also scary. No longer sharing all with me, it makes it difficult to know what is going on in her mind. This is also often the phase in your child's life where they can make some very poor choices. I am confident that she is a wise child, she has always demonstrated good reasons to trust her. At this point in my life, I simply need to trust that about her, (with a watchful eye! lol ) I have been praying a lot about this, because even though I know it must be, I at the same time, do not want to lose her. Last night we were watching the firework display and she started talking about a boy that she likes. I was asking some questions about him and she was sharing with me. She then said to me, "Mom, this is what I really love about you." I said, "What?" She said, "I know you are not asking questions simply because you are being nosy, but that you really are interested in me and what is going on. You enjoy hearing about things that bring me joy." I simply looked up to the beautiful sparkles in the sky ... "THANK YOU LORD!!!!"
